Neighbor Logan (8) was the youngest member of the cast of Elf, the Musical. This was something he wanted to do, and he was involved in rehearsals for weeks. We went to the first performance. Because we bumbled to the wrong door at the theater, we saw him just before the show began. His parents were behind him, and John and I are reflected in the door.
The show was delightful. My favorite photo, taken during the performance, shows Logan as a child on Santa’s lap at Macy’s. The red cast on his arm blends in nicely with Santa’s red suit.
Logan appeared in street scenes several times, including the final scene. He is the child in a blue coat. It was fun to watch him singing and dancing with that lively crew.
How cute. He will remember this for a long time.

That is so fun!!! One of my favorite stories, and I have never seen it outside the movie medium. Bet he did an awesome job.

It was a lovely production with which to begin. There were many short scenes and no intermission.

It looks like he was one of the youngest! What a great experience for him!

Logan was the youngest person in the cast. Guess it was appropriate that he was also wearing a cast!

I bet you made Logan’s day by going to see himself the elf. Your title says it all!

I suspect Logan was too nervous to be very aware of who was in the audience. His brother and family were there, too. Shawn and Bob thanked us for coming.

His first venture as a thespian! Next time he is over at your house, you’ll be able to talk to him about his role and it will make him happy.

Has he got greasepaint for blood? Developed a taste for the applause already.. I’ll bet he was the little star of the show.

I should ask how he found out about the production of Elf. I’m pleased that he chose to do it. He participates in sports too, and I doubt his parents push him.

How adorable. He looks so comfy up there. I inclined to think he just may have gp in his blood.

Logan may have the acting bug. In the playbill, his paragraph listed reading as a favorite. He taught himself to read before he went to kindergarten.

We’ll see if Logan likes the theater enough to repeat the experience. Several of the children in the production had acted there before.

I wish we could see the play again. There were other children and adults that were great, but I didn’t want to miss a moment of Logan.

The theater was full, so I presume there were many relatives that came to see the cast. The oldest member was of college age.

There’s a super-special delight in watching a grandchild on stage. I don’t know why, do you? I think I would have that besotted smile on my face from start to end even if the play was Coriolanus.

LOL! You’ve got grandparenthood nailed! We are honorary grandparents for Logan, who lives across the street from us. He is 10 years younger than our younger grandson. I sat through the whole play with a camera in my hand, hoping to catch a few good shots without making the people behind us angry.
