Thanks to neighbor Bob, I have a new game. Bob repaired a faulty wire in the electric line to the front porch. After John cleaned out the angel fountain, I set it up again and ran it. I hoped the fountain would work better in its new position. It didn’t. It has leaked for seven years, because the water clings to the under side of the middle pool instead of falling into the pool below. Changing the slant at three different levels did nothing. This year I added some plastic film to encourage the water to fall straight down instead of running back to the base and dripping. There is one improvement. The sound is better than it has ever been.
The new game is a race. I plug the fountain in, read a devotional book, and work the daily game of Set on line. I win if I finish before the drip bowl on the floor is full. I’ve done well, except for the days the scripture readings are exceptionally long.
Sadie was on the porch with me after our walk. She was sure the fountain was her new watering hole. She wasn’t quite tall enough to get water from the lowest pool, so she helped herself from the drip bowl.
If anyone has another idea to fix the fountain, please let me know. Sadie can get her water elsewhere.

Increase the middle pools chute depth Anne. Get John to take a rasp and file the opening so as to increase the openings size.
Because of retention of the water is greater than the flow. This creates a backup in the middle pool,causing a overflow condition.

a second idea might be for John to use his drill and put a few extra holes in the middle pools lip edge?

I know the drip bowl is a hassle, but it was still a story that made me smile this morning. The sound is lovely!

We have several tabletop fountains, with only one out at a time. They sound good, but nothing can take the place of your pond.

The tracks are jumbled. John and the grandsons have not played with them in two or three years. We need some youngsters who love trains to move into the neighborhood.

Yes, I was in Sadie’s head there for a few minutes, imagining the glee of my own water fountain, but feeling a little sheepish for those previous actions against my family member.

We used to have a pond and a grotto with Mama Mary’s image. We lost the kois when we got flooded. We have stopped the pond, it costs too much electricity and cleaning.

Do you have a pond inside? We have one that runs all the time in the kitchen and one on the porch that we turn on only when we eat there.
