Here are shots taken at or near the creek.
Getting the waterfall ready for summer was a big job. Kate was the cheering squad, while David removed dead leaves and muck. They used their phones to coordinate filling the pools, since the spigot was out of sight. I intend to get the broken pipe replaced to make things easier.
They trimmed the Wicked Wisteria, even cutting it back where it had reached out to the evergreens. I don’t like it when those plants collude, trying to tie off the back yard.
They took a few minutes to enjoy their work, watching and listening to the waterfall.

They did a very good job. The dog seems to like Kate (as does the cat)

Kate was terrified of all dogs when she was little. She’s come a long way.

Are the stones going to cover the pond edges?
So nice to have your waterfall working again!

The waterfall worked last year. David and Kate cleaned it up after the winter. Next project: putting the split back in the hose so that an upper pool is included in the flow again. After that, I’ll see if neighbor D is still willing to help with replacing the stones

Weather looks still cool there. Lovely yard – and how nice to have help getting it in shape. Wisteria vines are so beautiful when tamed a bit.and you have your own waterfall. Wonderful yard.

We had a VERY cool spring season. Because we had well-spaced rains, plants are looking good.

Marge had a Wisteria vine which kept reaching over the fence and choking my lilac tree. After years of fighting with it, Jeff cut it down last year and then I lost the lilac tree in the fire. You all did not let moss grow under your feet last week and still had time to have a good visit!

Thank you. The first owners set it up, and I try to keep the weeds down.

I am so enjoying the series of posts with Kate’s visit. I appreciate that they live close enough to come regularly. Even your Danish daughter makes it home! You must be a grateful mom and grandmother.

Kate drove by herself both ways. It takes about 14 hours one way. Yes! I am most thankful that both daughters come to visit. Son John $ lives in Washington State, and he calls me frequently — several times a week. How blessed I am!

I think that when we let our children turn into their real selves(instead of pushing them to be one way or another) they really do want to stay connected.

Husband John and the two grandsons built our little waterfall years ago. I was able to get it going again last year, and Kate and David cleaned it up last week.
