A Kilt in my Backyard??

I knew grandson David and neighbor Logan were throwing a football outside. After a while, I looked out and was shocked to see someone wearing a kilt.

My eyes are not what they used to be, so it took a few seconds for me to realize David had gotten too warm and had tied his flannel shirt around his waist. If your vision was a bit blurry, would you have seen a kilt at first??

  1. My mother’s side of the family was from Scotland, and I have always loved kilts and tartans. I really liked this post…and I rather like it when King Charles wears one! One of our ancestors used to play the bagpipe wearing the family tartan.

      1. I love that she has done so. I miss the days when we had the big family reunions, and it was always so fun to see and hear the McBrayers’, especially the bagpipe-playing kilt-wearing cousin Carl.

  2. Nice playing football David & Logan. Although kilts are traditionally associated with Scotland, they are also long-established in Irish culture. Kilts are worn in both Scotland and Ireland as a symbol of pride and a celebration of their Celtic heritage,!
Nice you sharing kilt wearing someone but David his shirt around his waist, but your vision was bit blurry.
    Tack care!

  3. I would have to agree with you, Anne. It would look like a kilt through blurry vision. There’s a rock group I like and the lead singer Jonathan wears a kilt a lot. I was disappointed the last time I saw them in concert because he wasn’t wearing it. I think they are sexy on certain men.

  4. Haha, I can see why you made the mistake. I have a closet full of kilts and all the associated gear upstairs – I’m in Scotland, and my husband plays the bagpipes. A word of advice should the situation ever arise – don’t remain in a room with someone practising the bagpipes – make your excuses and run! I can assure you that the noise is deafening and really painful to the ears! 😁

    1. A man played Amazing Grace in the balcony of our church, and we had very good acoustics. He paced back and forth in a tiny space. I don’t know what he did to soften the sound, but it was bearable!
