The question in the title is not about the Christmas song, although I do love the music. It’s about my hearing aids. The first one was fine, but when I put the second in my ear, I couldn’t hear anything. No! Not today! I was going to get an injection in the eye and wanted everything else to work as usual. Don’t panic! That won’t help anything. I put the aid back in the charger, which should have cut it off and started recharging. The second time I could hear the tune it plays, but just barely. Could it be that wax had shifted, muffling everything? I didn’t think so. I put the aid in again, picked up the phone, and looked for the app that can control it. It wasn’t there! Could I have uninstalled it by accident? I began reading the titles of all the apps and finally found it under C when I thought it was under O. Changing the volume of both seemed to solve the problem. Whew! What a relief! The rest of the day was much smoother.

Your eye and ear on the same day! Yikes! My hearing aids are in the charger today. Forgot to put them in this morning. Sigh! I had a contractor meeting and some shopping and didn’t miss them. Still on the fence.

I don’t know much about hearing aids in general. Seems to me yours should be better than they are. I’m still hoping for success for you.

It’s probably me. I do need an adjustment to bring the sound down and maybe a tad less tinny. My big problem is most of the time I can hear well enough without them.

Are your hearing aids paired with your phone? I can lower the volume with an app.
The audiologist might be able to fine tune the tinny sound.

Yes and I do that. Definitely need an adjustment. Don’t get in until mid-January.

Well, in talking with yourself and thinking out loud you came to a good solution. I can only imagine your consternation and hope the eye appointment went well. Christmas blessings!

Shawn, Bob, and Logan are planning to have dinner with me unless they get a last-minute invitation from their children. I urged them to accept if that happens. David hasn’t told me his plans yet.

Reading your story and Kate’s recent stories about hearing aids makes me wish I did not listen to all that loud music with my radio headphones back in the day.

Maybe you won’t have lasting damage. Surely you’d have noticed a decline in hearing by now.

Yes, that’s probably true. I have this issue with the dog next door howling and whining, so I jam Kleenex in my ears. I did not think having the rubbery earplugs in all day was good for the ear canal.

So you are using a rechargeable hearing aid. I use batteries and change them once a week.🥰

I’ve been very pleased with the rechargable aids. I have a difficult time seeing small things, so fumbling with tiny batteries was not on my wish list.

And you are dear to me, as well. I’m cooking on Christmas, too. No family for me this year. Neighbors are filling the gap. (David is with a friend.). We are going to enjoy each other. Merry Christmas!
