Grandson Nathaniel and friend Sarah came to visit after Christmas and after the proposal. She is now officially his fiancee, and everyone is very pleased. We have photos from the mirror ritual. Nate raises the mirror on arrival and lowers it when leaving. Everyone participates, but I didn’t get the dog in the photo this time.
There are two pictures of them. I thought her likeness was better in one and his in the other, so here you have both.

Sarah is so lovely. When’s the big day Anne?

Computer cable problems have kept me battling with my ISP for a few weeks snd I’ve missed answering a lot of posts. I’m happy to be back ‘live’ for this one Anne. My Congratulations to the happy couple, your closeness to your grandsons is obvious and is much to the credit of Yours and John’s help in bringing them up to become the adults they are today. You must be very proud and have every tight to be so, Massive Hugs from Cymru.

A lovely addition to the family. Did John get to meet her before he died? I hope so.

Yes, John got to know and love Sarah before he died. I’m certain he would be very pleased to know that Nathaniel asked for and got his wedding ring to use when they marry.

So special…I have given my first Grandson my husbands wedding ring.. His Dad and Uncle were amazed at the size and said “Let me see that” .He had not been able to wear it for a long time because his fingers grew and working around farm equiptment was dangerous to wear rings. G may not ever use it but he can if he so choses.

It’s special to keep the ring in the family.

That is wonderful. I know my daughter’s father got to meet her fiance before he died and told her how much he liked him.

Will you be sewing for your wedding?

Probably not. The wedding is in Italy, due to Visa issues, and DH is not able to travel long distances because of his AERD, (he has oxygen on stand by all the time) so we will participate via FaceTime and Dennis’ parents will be there (Dad will conduct the ceremony.) When the visa comes through the legal ceremony will be here, so then I might do something.

Ahh! the ritual continues. Is Nate still in Charlotte? Is it time for him to start a cooking blog? Mary had Carpal Tunnel surgery 3 weeks ago, stitches come out today. She will now get back to her quilting. I need to kick myself in the butt and get back to blogging. We have been Binge watching a few Netflix series, not a good thing! The best to all , conngrats on the engagement. I feel like I know him quite well. theRooster

Yes, Nate is still in Charlotte. Sarah is almost through school, and they plan to marry in a year or two.
Hope the surgical recovery goes well. Daughter Lise had a hip replaced in December. She’s only 55.
I haven’t blogged in a week. Niece Chrissie is here to help me while David moves out.
Do write again! I love your posts. Greetings to M A.
