How times have changed at my house! When John was alive, I always fiddled with time pieces the night before the clocks changed. It didn’t affect him, but I wanted to remind myself that I was losing an hour and should go to bed earlier. These days many clocks change themselves, tuned to a higher power. When I turned on the alarm, the phone showed me that it would ring in 6 hours and 14 minutes. That felt like a slap in the face. I would definitely face the clocks in the morning.
Kacey had more sense than a clock, and she slept a few minutes beyond the alarm. Nevertheless, we ventured out before the sun came up. Does anyone else wish we didn’t have to shock our systems twice a year?
I was on time for the live-streamed service. In the chat part of the screen, one worshiper said it was not only a time change, but he lives in the next time zone! Sounded like a sacrifice to me.
It’s just as well I hadn’t planned anything to do. I sat down to work three daily puzzles and fell asleep before noon while staring at the second one.
Outside, the air was mid-winter cold, but the sun was spring warm. I sat on the porch with Kacey for a little while and gave her a daily brushing. Cleaning the brush with my fingers, I released fur and enjoyed watching where the wind would take it. The first wad blew away from the house, danced up the yard, and came back to rise over the house and disappear. I hope birds will use it in building a nest.
Sunlight streaming into the living room is inviting me to play the piano. It seems just the thing to do on such an odd day. I’ve read that the majority of Americans would like to abolish daylight savings time. Does anyone know of a single person who wants to keep it? Further, is there any corporation or other entity that is intent on keeping it, and if so, why? Why??

At least you and I are 1 hour closer, for the next 2 weeks!

I like the added light in the evening. The adjustment isn’t a big deal to me although it seems that some people struggle with it. Sounds like you and Kacey had a good day!

I did but the weather wasn’t cooperating.

I was actually up early for a change, but then again, it would have been 7:30 yesterday. That was funny about you falling asleep on your game! I’ve done that reading a book and almost knocked myself out with the iPad 😂😆
No, I don’t know anyone who likes the change.

I am reading in bed again, and I might have the same iPad problem you have — knocking myself silly with it.

Maybe we should put it down the moment our êyes start dropping, lol and not try to fight it by reading just one more page!

When the weather is warm, I won’t need to get in bed to warm it up. I read while waiting.

Glad Kacey gave you a bit of a break this morning. I would prefer we would have left it as is as now it will take a few weeks to be able to get out as early as I was going to walk. Now it doesn’t get light until 8:45-9:00, especially if it’s a gray day. Once I’m home for the day I don’t go out again anyway.

I went walking at my usual time this morning, despite the time change. There was plenty of light. Like you, I often do not leave the house after I get back home from walking.

They were predicting a cloudy morning, so I dawdled getting ready and taking the garbage out, then went outside, a beautiful blue sky. I’m going to quit listening to the weather folks or following the weather online as they are so often wrong.

“does anyone really know what time it is anymore?” I think there is plenty of evidence that we should do one or the other, but it is not good for us to switch back and forth. I can well remember when we did the first switch to help the electric grid (or at least, that is what they told us) and driving to work in the dark and driving home after work in the dark.

in England they used to say it was for the Scottish farmer, to give longer spells of light.
personally I check the phone which has switched automatically to the new time.
Flying across the Atlantic leaves the body with a greater confusion 🤗.

I have 11 devices that knew the correct time at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday. There were seven that I had to change myself.

I hate the time change, I wish the powers that be would just pick one and stick with it. For me, it means an hour more of darkness as I am an early riser. It makes things more difficult for farmers as they have an hour less in the morning between dawn and the market opening to complete their chores. Cows don’t observe the time changes. It doesn’t save any energy, the supposed reason for doing it, it just shifted the usage early in the day. And the kicker is that with more daylight later, people get in their cars and drive to parks or activities which actually increases gas usage!! But businesses that depend on outdoor activities love it – like golf courses. It always comes down to money.

I’m one of those “night” people who loves the extra hour of daylight in the evening. But I do wish the powers that be would just settle on one or the other and then leave it alone. That dog, by the way is gorgeous. Hopefully Pete and I will get to pet her some day.

Kacey and I are getting well, although I’d love to find a good home for her. I’m concerned at the lack of exercise for her. How I wish I could walk her to the stop sign every day! It would be lovely if you and Pete could come to visit.

I dislike the time change too. It was getting light early enough to walk at 6 am, and now my morning schedule is messed up again, since I have to wait until 7. It shouldn’t matter, but I seem to get busy with something inside, and then don’t allow enough time before other obligations. This year we set the clocks forward right after supper, and went to bed at the “normal” time. It was hard to get to sleep, but it did help smooth the change for me.

I kept walking at 8:30, but soon it’s going to get too light and too hot.

Most of us wish the time didn’t change! As we travel, we get to experience crossing time zones and that can mess up our schedule.
