Logan Walks with Lise and Me

Neighbor Logan (13) walks with Lise and me whenever he can. He is delightfully entertaining, always finding something new to do. He jumps to hit signs, hops over ditches, runs for the sheer joy of running, and touches a bear’s eye on a mailbox. When I pointed out to Lise the rut that deer have made coming through the woods, Logan went to inspect it. I asked for a reenactment, and he hammed it up for the camera.

Logan often runs on a retaining wall. This day he did a dance at the furthest point and ran back toward us.

On the way home, he picked a wild flower, wondering what it was. I used the lens app on the phone that identified it as a grape hyacinth. His mind is always active, noticing new things and wondering about others. No two walks are ever the same. He is developing a good sense of humor, too, often teasing about things or pretending to be serious over silly things. There is never a dull moment with Logan around.

  1. I wonder what kind of a man he will turn out to be. He seems very intelligent and also thoughtful and kind. (Gets in trouble with Mom and Dad a lot, though!)

  2. The Deer have a run from behind daughter Kathryn’s home a !/2 mile away to between us and next door neighbors. If BR window is open, Ben (the Poodle) BARKS like the world is coming to an end. So much fun at 0300. Keep on keeping on Logan. Happy 1 April Anne!

      1. Good for you. I had two services, one at the church I serve part time and a Sunrise service at the church I attend when I am not serving. I did an informal Maundy Thursday Service online and a Good Friday Service on line. Had a good nap and leftovers for supper. Tonight I baked a ham and did Easter Dinner food, lol. It was all good and I am grateful. But, as to belting out the songs, I can’t help myself, I sing out!

        1. I’m glad you sing out. You were busy last week!! I never had to play for a sunrise service. Our church in NY had a very early service at the beach only one time or so, and I didn’t go. We ALWAYS had two major services with communion in church on Easter. That was probably the most difficult Sunday of the year for me. I usually took a vegetable casserole to the family dinner, one that I could make ahead. I forgot to be thankful yesterday that I haven’t done that for 10 years.
