Pleasant Times with Neighbor Joyce

Daughter Lise and I had good visiting times with both Logan and neighbor Joyce when walking to the stop sign. Joyce works in the afternoon, but she often walks with us in the morning. There are no photos of Logan this time.

Joyce gave me a stake and wire lead that she’d had for her grand dog. Kacey loves the backyard venue with a wider range than she has in the front. She indicates there are more interesting smells in the back, too. Here she is sharing her new space with Lise.

Lise and I had a lovely excursion with Joyce, going to the mountains near Highlands and Cashiers (pronounced cash-ers). She has an acre of land there and needed to replace the For Sale sign that had disappeared. The day was sunny and warm, and the mountain views were glorious. Someone is going to want to build a house there. The property has one or two natural springs and a small stream.

We enjoyed watching butterflies on flowers across from Joyce’s plot. The butterflies seemed carefree and didn’t mind our watching them.

    1. No, we haven’t found a home for Kacey yet. We may have to put it off until summer when Lise is here again. The weather is getting warmer, so getting her outside will be more comfortable.

  1. Butterflies on those flowers are gorgeous! I am glad Kacey has a little more space for her outdoor time. When we first moved to MS, the rental house had no fenced yard and we had to use a stake and tie out for outdoor time for our dogs a couple of months until we moved here. Our dogs like to be inside most of the time, but it is important to have a safe place for them to be outside as well. As always, I enjoyed ‘walking’ with you!

    1. I’m so happy you walk with me. You are the first person who has mentioned using a stake for outdoor dog time. I won’t leave Kacey by herself, because she’s a digger.

      1. I understand that! Reggie loves to dig a hole around a clump of grass, and then pull the grass out with his teeth and toss in the air. His second favorite thing to do after that is run to the other side of the yard, turn around, and run back and bite a clump on the run. I have never seen a dog do that! I would usually walk the dogs for their business on the leash, but sometimes, they just wanted to be outdoors and lie in the sun. They were in the front yard and we could see them, as I do not like to have a dog tied up very long, although it is very common here.
