Daughter Kate was with me eight wonderful days. I took the most photos when we went up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I said “up”, because that parkway is mostly on the ridge of mountains where there are glorious views. We stopped at my favorite waterfall, Sunburst, on the way to the parkway. I took one selfie, but Kate’s was better. As she explained, “I have longer arms than you do.”
We went through a little rain before stopping at an overlook. You can see the clouds behind her. I didn’t vote for rain, but I think the best views are not under a cloudless sky, but with mountains and clouds dancing together.
I often take photos when people are forced to stay still and quiet. Kate had requested deconstructed Norwegian meatballs for dinner while she was here, and here she is ready to eat. The ingredients were taken from my mother-in-law’s recipe. She always formed the meatballs, cooked them, and heated them in beef consomme to be served with rice. Her meals were beautiful, as well as tasty. My version is not pretty, but it is quick and easy.

Can I have the recipe, too, please?

I had almost finished writing my version of the recipe, and my finger hit something that made it fly off the screen. I’ll try again on a computer.

If things get deleted on an iPhone or iPad, often you can shake the device and it undeletes. Not sure about Android, though. Sorry that happened. Sounds frustrating.

M.A. just made a big pot of Black Beans and rice Salad. Actually she made three different healthy gatherings, as I call them. All go well with Cottage Cheese. I’m back in Cardio rehab for 36 sessions, minor incident last month sent me there. If I could get past the Vertigo I’d be in great shape. Glad to see the Jersey girl was there for a visit. My best to all the family. I must get back in the writing saddle routine. M.A. busy quilting, weddings and Babies. Our best to ye as always.

Thanks for your brief list of events. I hope you get past the vertigo. I’ve had enough to know I don’t want it again. Please get back in the writing saddle. I love to read your posts. Keep your heart healthy! Greetings to MA, too.

Wow, y’all really have had a great visit! I was hoping she would still be there when Lise came. I remember taking the same trip with you, it was gorgeous!

The girls rarely visit at the same time. I like having them at different times, because then I can concentrate on one at a time.

I’ll bet those eight days just zipped by too. The trip to the Sunburst waterfall sounds special and the selfie turned out wonderful. It looks like Kate is enjoying her deconstructed Norwegian meatball while dining on the porch.

I love that no matter how old the “kids” are, they still want a favorite meal made by Mom!!🩷 It sounds like you and Kate had a special time together.

It was a marvelous week. Today Kate was back at work, and I pulled exuberant plants away from the edge of the walkway. At least there were happy memories while gardening!
