I carelessly left two eggs alone on the counter, but they hadn’t moved for several minutes. I wasn’t thinking of that when I walked into the laundry room and heard a small, unfamiliar sound. As I came back to the kitchen, Kacey and I discovered the broken egg on the floor at the same time. I made some sound like OH!, and she backed away.
βIt’s OK, Kacey. Wait. Let me pick up the shell. Here you go! Uncle John is always saying I should give you a raw egg, and now I have. It should make your coat shine.β
The floor looked spotless, but I cleaned it well, anyway. If Kacey hadn’t been here, the egg would have been wasted. Thank you, Kacey.
Thank goodness Kacey was there to help! A beneficial accident for her!

Did Kacey somehow engineer that?

Ohhhh! I don’t THINK so. Not unless she has learned how to make things levitate.

Kacey understands a few words, but she is more likely to read my mood. I make a point to tell her good morning and pet her enthusiastically. She loves it.

I clean up a lot more of Kacey’s messes than she cleans of mine.

my last dog would not touch a raw egg- even if I thought she might like to help clean up a broken one.

Are we sure that a dog nose nudge wasn’t involved? Kacey sure did luck out if it was just gravity, LOL!!

The eggs were at the back of the counter, much too far away for Kacey to encourage one to jump off the edge! She would be pleased that you considered her devious enough to do the deed.

Would cats eat a raw egg? I don’t know that ours ever had the chance.

No, I don’t think so. Maybe one starving out in the wild but not our spoiled indoor ones.

Dogs are good at cleaning up such little messes made by humans or spirits

Kacey got an unexpected treat it seems. I’m glad it wasn’t a big mess to clean up.

It would have been an awkward mess to clean up by myself.

Good Job Kacey! Now you might have to watch that she doesn’t knock eggs off the counter on purpose. π

She’s not that smart, but I intend to keep eggs corralled at the back of the counter.
