Just a few days, ago neighbor Joyce said she had a feeling the horses would return soon. She has a better view of the rented pasture than I do, and she watches the animals more often. Every year the horses are gone for months at a time, and we miss them.
I was eating a late breakfast when DW and Vixen walked down the hill and went to the corner. The two horses in the next pasture came to greet them. There was no reason I couldn’t get in on the homecoming.
Going back to my meal, I watched them check out the corner closest to Joyce and me before walking again to the shared corner and up the hill. They certainly seemed happy to be back with lots of plants and grass to nibble on.

I love to see horses! What a nice breakfast treat.

Nox loves horses. She is just fascinated by them. Nox is such a tiny dog to want to be friends with such large animals!

Does she go right up to them? I recently saw a video where a small toddler walked into a pasture with three horses. They put their faces on the child’s level and let her kiss them.

We keep a fence between Nox and horses. Nox would go right up to horses if we let her. She did get to visit with cows at a recent stop. Nox touched noses with the calves through the fence. It was incredibly cute.

Horses are beautiful as long as I am not up close to them, as up close I get nervous around them

That’s the way I am, too. I can pet and feed these because there is a fence between us.

Aww … like old friends returning from a long trip! Where do they go in the meantime? Do you have any idea? On a walk near the houses in Sweden there is a farm and the two most majestic black horses would always be high up on the rocks near a house. Then one summer they’d gone – I still miss their presence. Annika

The owner of the horses told a neighbor that he and his wife take the horses somewhere to ride them. We don’t know where.
You know what it’s like to miss horses that you don’t own!

How nice to have them back. Our horse neighbors come to the fence, and we feed them carrots or apples. Ruby likes to eat carrots too but only when the horses are.
