I didn’t see Frog the day after I cleaned the waterfall pools, but I thought I saw a little movement in the plants nearby. I wouldn’t worry just yet.
I had warning that the temperature was going low, because neighbor Joyce mentioned it. She would prefer a warm, sunny day to clean her front porch. I looked at the forecast and pulled the door curtains shut before I went to bed, hoping to keep the house warm without turning on the heat.
An added blanket kept me warm all night, but how cold it seemed when I got up! It’s the first time I ever wished for a sweater to wear to the bathroom. The thought of washing my hands with cold water made me shudder, so I ran the water until it was hot. A sweatshirt would have been welcome when doing stretches and bands. The thermometer told me it was 44F (6.666C) outside and 69F (20.556C) inside. Good grief, Anne! It was often that cool in the house all winter! Get moving!
For the morning walk, I wore a sweatshirt and a windbreaker, shedding only the top layer on the way home. Even keeping the sweatshirt on inside wasn’t enough, because writing does not keep me warm. That’s when it occurred to me that Frog might not be hiding. He might have gone into hibernation!! Brr!

69f would feel like the height of summer here. First rain for over two weeks here so the plants can stop gasping now and bloom properly. No doubt frog will be out to sunbathe soon. Hugs

We have already had outside temperatures over 80°f. I don’t need it to be that warm, but 44°, was a bit low. Hugs!

Experts at camouflage. I cannot see a frog in the photo either.

This made me chuckle. My daughter has a sweater coat that my mom knit years ago that she wears inside her house in the forest for most of the year as its almost always chilly in there. The waterfall looks lovely. I’m sure the frogs are keeping warm somewhere.

I believe frog is hibernating in my back yard temporarily. There is a little spot where the concrete floor under the downstairs room has lifted up, and while I was mowing the back yard, it popped out and jumped into a crack in the concrete! I jumped almost as high as it did! It is the first froggie I have seen in a while now.

Perhaps you had a Frog Fright! I hope he behaves himself. It isn’t nice to scare people.

I will check his ID, and if he is from NC, I will put him on the next train for you. 🐸

I did not remove the extra blanket from my bed yet. I think it will stay another night or so.

It is hard to leave a cozy bed when it is chilly inside.

I look forward to reading about frog’s return! He’s become an interesting story you’re sharing this Spring. I relate to the colder weather…high of 49° the last couple days with non-stop rain. Definitely not feeling like Memorial Day weekend weather🇺🇸.

Brrr – it is cold here too and I walked with a Winter coat the other day. I feel like I have to keep two coats, one heavy, one light and warm pants/light pants handy to walk anymore. I miss my wool hat for mornings, that is when we don’t have rain (about to have it three days in a row again), but I wear the sunhat if I’m out past 10:00 a.m. Strange times and strange weather for sure. I hope Frog comes back – he may have by now. I was behind three days in Reader.

I saw frog yesterday, but there was much to write about. Today we had our neighborhood cookout, so I really was not watching for frog, even though we were on my back porch.

Frog was probably lying low to avoid the crowds or smelled barbeque and grilled meat and said to itself “must protect my legs.”

I hope Frog shows up soon Anne. Here in southern NJ our heat has come on through the night and early morning. Next week is supposed to be warmer.
