Daughter Lise is in the process of getting the study updated. The first item was unplugging John’s computer. All the wires were tangled behind the small computer desk, so I crawled behind it to unplug each wire Lise jiggled.

I had to lie down to use both hands.

Lise suggested a victory photo after everything was unplugged.

This time I had no trouble getting up, knowing I had to take the phone out of my pocket and remove my sneakers. The hard drive will have to be wiped clean before we can give the computer away, but that can wait.
Sounds like changes are in process? You still look like you were having fun.

Lise uses the big desk when she is here, and I turned on John’s computer only once since he died. There was nothing anyone needed from it.

Yes, I’m used to crawling under desks, too.

I did something similar when we were cleaning out my dad’s place. I’m glad nobody thought to take a picture though. 🙂

If I got down on the floor I wouldn’t be able to get up again

That happened to me six or seven years ago. Since then, I get on the floor once every day to keep in practice.

I used to hate dealing with the tangle of wires behind the hutch downstairs … now it is just the laptop upstairs in the kitchen, so it is easier. Nothing was as bad (for me anyway) as years ago when the VCR was not recording audio, just the picture, so I took it into the Curtis-Mathes store where we bought it and the TV to have it repaired. I had all these sticky notes on the wires so I knew how to attach it again because the VCR was inside a piece of heavy furniture. I couldn’t see the back where it connected and had to use flashlights and a mirror. We ended up getting another TV and VCR downstairs which was on a rolling cart so when there were issues, I could see what I was doing (and also didn’t miss any shows). That was when there were great things on TV … miniseries, movies and TV programs, all on network television, so you had to watch it live or record it, no binge watching later.

I remember watching TV a long time ago. I hardly ever looked at it when I began working full time.

At one time, there were multiple things to watch on the same night and neither my mom nor I wanted to stay up seven nights a week to watch them. We taped a lot of stuff and watched on the weekend or in TV off-season and fast-forwarded. I watched “All Creatures Great and Small” which was six weeks and ended last Sunday and that’s the most TV I’ve watched since it was on last January-February.
