Daughter Lise adores thunderstorms, and one day before she was to leave, she woke twice in the night, seeing light through her eyelids. An hour later I woke, looked at the weather radar, and texted her to expect activity soon. I woke for that round. It was super!

Thunderstorms can be scary as all shit my grandmother didn’t like them they always frightened her

I have occasionally found storms to be a bit frightening.

Hi Anne – I’m popping on here to see if Nathaniel and Sarah are okay as I heard on the national news there was a tornado in Charlotte. I hope they are okay. We’ve had 10 days of very scary weather here. Three tornadoes west of me, one which decimated a town – that was March 6th. We were supposed to have severe weather (tornado) in my area twice in three days. I stayed up until early morning, even though I have a weather alarm. bit the threat was overnight – the worst kind. Plus, we have had very high winds – 72 mph last Friday all day, Sunday high winds and another tornado threat and all day yesterday 55 mph winds. I held my breath each time I went outside as I heard thumps and bumps after dark – so far, so good – whew.

Sarah and Nathaniel are fine. They were here yesterday, on their way to TN for a short vacation.

That’s great – so it was good they were on vacation and away from Charlotte (if the tornado was bad, etc.).

I didn’t hear anything about the tornado. Niece Kathie drove home to Charlotte and never mentioned it .

Interesting – my CBS news AM radio station mentioned it in the national news broadcast along with the rest of the wild weather across the U.S. … East Coast severe weather woes versus the big heat wave on the West Coast.

I asked Kathie about the tornado, but she hasn’t replied.

I am starting to wonder about CBS national news.

Kathie said a tornado touched down in Charlotte about an hour after she left to drive here. It lifted the roof off a warehouse and didn’t hurt anyone.

That’s good that it was not a devastating tornado Anne – it restores my faith in the CBS National News, which, as a side note, today I learned that CBS Radio News is shutting down after 99 years – all the employees were given their notice today. That’s a long time to be giving the news and just shut down. It won’t happen until May 22nd.

Yes, I was amazed Anne! Just shy of 100 years. I have listened to my current AM radio station (WWJ 950 AM) as long as we’ve lived here (60 years). They are 106 years old and the top of every hour there is a newscast (national and international news), I don’t have TV or a cable subscription, so I get most of my news from them and supplement it from social media as well.
