Grandson David asked me if I’d like to go to church with him. He had spent the night at my house after going to the train club in Tennessee. I got up at the usual time and watched my church on line until the end of the sermon. We went to town quite early, so that he could go to the choir room and get robed to process in.
I’ve been to services there several times and had observed that people liked to sit at the ends of pews. One or two people would sit next to the main aisle, and another one or two would be on the outer aisle. Since I was the first one to be seated, I sat in the middle. I knew by doing that, I wasn’t likely to take someone’s preferred spot.
I looked at the focal point of the sanctuary, the cross at the front. Because we are still in the Easter season, the cross was draped in white. It wasn’t just draped, it formed the letter M for Mehrling! (Of course, anyone else could have looked at it and said it was for ME!) I meditated for a while on the fact that what took place on the cross was for every person who ever lived on earth. That seemed fitting for Good Shepherd Sunday.

You seeing “M” made me smile!
It’s funny how people sit in the exact same church space year after year. Overall, a special day attending church with David🤍.
