Finger Painting

The pain associated with a smashed finger was minimal. Two days later, I could use that finger almost normally. It was the color that amazed me. Both top and bottom of the finger had turned Used-Blood Purple! Although completely natural, I do not recommend this type of finger painting.

  1. I’m ready to shut down my computer after some Windows updates and saw these photos and went and grabbed my blog post from a few years ago. But my problem was just one finger, not my hand or multiple fingers. I got a new garage door and, after many years of using the space between the panels to push the door up/down (I’m tall, so that’s what I always did) and, since I didn’t want an electric garage door opener, the installer said “let me show you how to open and close the door properly.” I went to do it like I did and he said “no, you’ll jam your fingers in the slats and crush them.” I did it by accident the next day, yelped, saw stars and sometimes, all these years later, if I’m typing a lot, using my right hand ring finger, it still hurts. I guess I didn’t break it and there’s no bump, but it hurt, so I sympathize with you.

    X marks the spot!

  2. Ooh. Looks sore. And we need to use our hands all the time, so I am glad the pain is minimal. Sometimes I get a broken finger capillary that looks similar. Takes a while to go. I missed what happened.

Reading the comments, it seems like garage doors can bite!

  3. I would say it definitely qualifies for “used-blood purple.” I am glad you are regaining movement, but it does look like it would still be painful. I hope it will continue to heal without further issues.
