Running Deer

One of the last days daughter Lise was here, we were standing at the kitchen window together. Simultaneously, we spotted deer running in the pasture. I had never seen a deer there, much less six of them. I think you can understand why they are called white tailed deer. Those white tails were very visible as they ran. Lise whipped out her telephone and took a video. I tried texting neighbor Joyce at the same time she was calling me. I’m thrilled that all three of us got to see that display.

  1. That was thrilling! Especially since you’ve never seen them there. Was it also showing?
I’m always sorry to see Lise go, but I’m sure you both enjoyed the visit!

          1. I would have loved to see that! I am following a site on social media that a family rescued a brand-new fawn whose mom had been killed and are raising it. They have two Golden Retrievers and each dog, plus the deer (which is fully grown now) has their own bed, lined up against the wall. They get along fine and even romp around in the backyard. It’s a delight to watch the videos.

              1. Yes, I am enjoying watching it. I will send you the link in a separate comment and you can take a peek. I don’t follow on Facebook, but it dawned on me they probably would be on FB.

  2. Lise did an excellent job capturing all of the mayhem. I noticed some deer had really dark coats. Ours in Oklahoma are more of a medium brown, yet darker hues to them. The coats are a beautiful orange/red in summer. I love the white tails! These look like they were having a good frolic. They do love the cold!

  3. What a fun video! In some ways, I think you are fortunate not to have very many deer in the area where you live. We have lots of deer around here, and they eat my flowers, the yew bushes, and the hosta plants.
