I washed the Christmas shower curtains before putting them away. For drying, I draped them over furniture on the back porch. The moisture was gone almost immediately, but I wanted to make sure they were completely dry. Bringing them inside, I tossed them over chairs and left the room. When I came back, the first thought I had was that someone had put dust covers out in preparation for a lengthy absence. English movies have shown such a scene when the upper-class family was going for a stay in their country home. All the furniture would have been shrouded in dull covers to keep them clean. My chairs felt very special, being covered in Christmas glory.

I’ve seen the furniture covers in the English movies. Your shower curtains are far more festive!🎄Always good to clean up after Christmas but also sad putting the fun decor away for the year.

Yes, it’s sad to pack away the decorations, but the year will fly by. Before you know it, we’ll be lugging those totes out again.

I love the one with the bells. I never thought of changing my shower curtain for Christmas! I change all the towels and quite a few other things. I may look into that for next year! !!!! The dust cover impression is amusing!

Amazon had an amazing array of shower curtains when I last looked. I bought a new one every other year for a while and enjoy changing them with the season. Right now I have snow men in one bathroom and Valentine hearts in the other.

🙂 I do recall you mentioning that you had some photos that had been turned into shower curtains. How fun that you can decorate to the seasons when you want.

Niece Chrissie got a photo of my favorite waterfall from a man she had worked with and had it made into a shower curtain. It’s my most precious one.

These make very classy dust sheets, Anne! 😀 I’d never seen festive shower curtains before and what a great idea! Maybe there will be some for sale in the UK next year. In Sweden we cover the furniture in the summer houses with clean sheets at the end of summer and it really does seem to make a difference as it is 8 months before our return in Spring.

I’m thrilled to know the practice of covering furniture still exists.
I hope you find a shower curtain you like. I bought mine online at Amazon. I felt they were reasonably priced.

That was an innovative way to ensure they dried thoroughly. Both are very pretty – you have/had Christmas spirit everywhere!

I didn’t decorate in the living room or bedrooms which many people do. I ate from Christmas plates and drank from Christmas mugs. And, of course, the air was filled with Christmas music all day long. This is one of the best celebrations of Christmas I’ve ever had.
