The day before the move, I took this photo of a clock in my bedroom and a solar light on the deck. That little light came from Dollar Tree and is the best solar item I’ve ever had. It soaked up the afternoon sun and was still giving out light the next morning.

Later, neighbors D and Jeff brought over the houseplants. No, I’m not moving, but Shawn and Bob are. Perhaps Shawn knew that former neighbor Joyce’s plants survived in my living room for several weeks before she moved. It’s not a reassuring thing to trust one’s plants to a neighbor who claims to have black thumbs, not green ones. The photo shows some of the plants with mine. The rest of Shawn’s got two windows of their own in the dining room.

Perhaps plants sense changes. The largest one peered over my computer and stuck out its tongue at me.

The day of the move, this is what the street looked like. There were five vehicles and a trailer. People were running about like ants.

After most of the vehicles left, Shawn was chatting with an old woman near my mailbox. The woman lost her balance and was falling. She would have tumbled over a huge rock and into the ditch below if Shawn hadn’t caught her! Oh! What a miracle! I am most thankful, because the old woman was me!! I have no idea what I tripped on. Shawn might very well forget that crisis – that on the day she moved, she also saved a neighbor’s life!
Thank you, Shawn. And thank you, God.
That’s a lot of plants. Are you babysitting them or adopting them? Perhaps you are fostering them. Thank heaven Shawn caught you before the tumble. 💖

I’m just keeping the plants until they have a house to take them to.

I plan to avoid falling. If I do begin to fall, I hope Shawn will be there!

Two surprising things on the same day–fostering more plants and being rescued yourself! I am glad you did not take a fall. I am sure you will miss Shawn and Bob and Logan.

They plan to stay close by. Saying goodbye to Joyce was final. We still text, though.

If they don’t already have a house, where did they move to?

Storage! I have the houseplants. D and Jeff have other things in their garage. The rest is in storage locally. They and dog Izzie will stay with friends and relatives until they buy another house.

So sorry to hear your dear friends are moving. Are they going far? Will Logan still be able to visit?
I’m glad she caught you before you fell.

I’m happy to read that your neighbors once again did you a kindness – a big one! I am sorry to read that Shawn and Bob will be moving. The second time nice neighbors have departed in a matter of months. I hope they will be close by and you’ll still see them and Logan.

Yes we’ll see them from time to time. Shawn, niece Chrissie, and I compare game scores on a daily basis, so that keeps us connected.

I hope you will come often. Bob and Tom came in for a cup of coffee the other day. I say hello to Bob’s truck every day, parked near the stop sign.
